What are some things a Nurse can deduct?

- Job search cost (airfare, faxes, Fed
EX, medical test, etc.) Hotel expenses while driving from

- Travel mileage from home to an assignment

from work while on assignment is not deductible, it is considered
commuter mileage).
The traveling contract is the first step necessary to begin
an assignment (which we require for our records) and helps verify residency status. Some examples
of proof of permanent residency status are:
- Car registration
- Bank account
- Registered voter
- Property owner

- Dates of assignments and dates you returned
home
- Copies of nursing contracts and extensions
- Amount of reimbursements received from
your travel company
- Address of permanent place of residence
- Include county and school district if
applicable
- Address of current residence
- Contact information (cell phone #, travel,
& home)
- Email address
- Copy of prior year tax returns
